Boil Water Advisory Lifted in Riverdale Neighborhood After Water Main Repair

A boil water advisory for a neighborhood in Riverdale, Georgia, has been lifted after crews repaired a broken water main and water quality tests confirmed the water was safe to drink.

The Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA) announced the all-clear Tuesday night, October 27, 2026, after testing found no harmful bacteria in the water supply.

“All water quality test samples came back negative of any harmful bacteria, and the water is safe to consume,” the authority said in a statement.

The localized boil water advisory was issued late Monday for residents near Harvest Lane and Autumn Drive, off Valley Hill Road in Riverdale.

According to the county, crews discovered a sewer leak while working to repair the water main break. The advisory remained in effect while the situation was addressed and water quality was evaluated.

With the test results confirming that the water was safe for consumption, officials lifted the advisory, allowing residents in the affected area to resume using their water without boiling it first.

Residents outside the designated advisory area were not identified as being affected by the notice.
